WELCOME TO
LAKE WYLIE COMMUNITY RADIO WYLI-LP is a new type of radio station. The LP stands for low power (100 watts) which means that the coverage of the station is limited to Lake Wylie and the immediate surrounding area. While this coverage area is very limited compared to full power radio stations, there are an estimated fifteen thousand people living within the coverage area of WYLI-LP and thousands visit or commute through the area each day. Our mission then, is to provide radio programming of specific interest to the people within that coverage area…programming which is not available from other radio stations. WYLI-LP is a non commercial station, operated by the Lake Wylie Community Radio Project, a non profit organization. The Lake Wylie Community Radio Project was founded by veteran broadcaster John Dolive who serves as president of the organization. Serving on the board of directors are Charles Wood, Fred Freiberger and Mary Dolive, all of the Lake Wylie area. WYLI-LP is a listener supported community radio station. While our operating expenses are not high, we do have expenses for rent, insurance, music licensing, and equipment maintenance. There are no salaries. All work is done by volunteers. The Lake Wylie Community Radio Project is a tax exempt, 501(c) (3) educational organization. Send your contribution to WYLI-LP, 54 Marina Rd, Lake Wylie, SC 29710. All contributions are acknowledged on the air. About our station.... The Lake Wylie Community Radio Project was organized in June, 2001, as a non-profit, educational organization to establishment and operate a low power FM radio station to serve the Lake Wylie community. The WYLI-LP offers a unique, community oriented radio service, offering blend of news and information of interest to the Lake Wylie community along with music and entertainment to appeal to a variety of tastes.
